The weather is gearing up for spring and that means it’s time to enjoy some simple healthy recipes with my fave fruits and veggies.
If you live in the Midwest like I do, you’re probably experiencing all sorts of seasonal confusion right about now. One day you’re thinking, OMG did spring arrive early this year?! to Why am I walking to work in Eskimo boots? the next. Ohio, why you gotta be like that?
Luckily, I’ve got a list of oh, so delicious recipes that’ll make you feel on point, despite the seasonal blues. But first, what’s in season right now? Some of my absolute favorites, of course! You may notice that I use these ingredients ALL THE TIME when I’m cooking and baking in the kitchen.
I like to use these seasonal ingredients pretty frequently in my recipes:
- Brussels Sprouts
- Sweet Potato
- Maple Syrup
Now that you know which delish fruits and veggies are in season, here’s a list of easy-peasy recipes from Hummusapien that you def need to try this spring.
Yummy, Yummy in my Tummy Breakfast Ideas
Start your day off right with one of these fantabulous oatmeal bars or muffins!
Hannah says, “These sound deeeelicious! I love when people use quinoa in a nontraditional way!”
Kori says, “Ohmygah these look and sound amazing!! I’m going to make these this weekend and your chai carrot banana bread for Easter. Your baking is on point!!”
Shokufeh says “Thanks for this recipe! Made these the other night and have been enjoying the tasty and easy breakfasts. It turns out that I picked up quick cooking oats last time, so mine was a mix of old-fashioned and quick cooking. I think it made for a more muffin-like texture than my baked oatmeal usually is:)”
Julia says, “Guac and strawbs on my toasty toast?! I want a whole loaf’s worth!”
Sara says, “This was so easy and perfect for brunch! Love that you can throw in whatever veggies and cheese you have on hand. Thank you!”
Super Scrumptious Side Dishes
Add a little sugar, spice, and everything nice to your dinner prep with these awesome side dishes.
Maureen says, “I like this recipe because I don’t have to worry about boiling the sweet potatoes too much!”
Dylan says, “I made this dip a few weeks ago and believe me when I say it was DIVINE!!”
Allie says, “OMGAAHH these look amazing and I will be making ASAP. Artichokes are one of my faves, but also one of those that I rarely ever cook (I feel like that’s what everyone says?). That aioli looks drool worthy too!”
Rachel says, “I don’t like traditional broccoli salad because I hate mayo but I can totes get on board with this mayo-less version! YUM!”
